When we were writing Can’t Stop Time, we were exploring the idea that time doesn’t pass at the same speed for everyone. In the first verse I imagined an older person with not very much time left looking through the glass of a clock face and wishing they could slow it down, and regretting all the time they may have wasted.

In the second verse, I remember being younger and looking through the glass of a window out at the world and wishing time would speed up to the part where I was outside my home having fun with my friends. But time marches on: you can’t stop it, speed it up, or rewind it.

Can’t Stop Time is the first of several songs for an upcoming EP about regrets. This is important because every one of us is dealing with anxiety, pressure, and regret. Songs about real emotions are a good way to deal with the hard parts of life.
